The Weekender

Listening to:

“The Mating Game”

Drinking:

I know it’s January, but this tangy beverage may be a perfectly affordable substitute for your highly craved  weekend get-a-way.

Asian Pear Mojitos:

– 1 1/2 parts white rum

– 1 part fresh squeezed lime juice

– 2 parts freshly extracted pear nectar

– 1 part simple syrup

– 4 sprigs mint

– seltzer

Add rum, simple syrup, lime juice, pear nectar and 3 sprigs mint  to shaker and muddle until desired mint flavor is achieved.  Strain into footed glass filled with ice. Top with seltzer. Garnish  with sprig of mint and slice of pear.

Lusting:

Elizabeth & James Chrissie Dress We’d be crazy to pass up the phenomenal sales going on now……
Many of you avid on-line shoppers may have seen the barrage of post-holiday discount codes. While I took home barrels of goodies 25, 30 and even 35% off from shopbop, revolve and tobi,  I was dismayed to find several brands exempt from these lust-worthy sales.
Everyone’s new favorite, Elizabeth and James, is one such brand. After seeing buyers overtake this vendor’s display for ENK’s Coterie Trunk Show, in New York City, its no surprise that this popular brand has been able to dodge the desperate conditions of retailers.
Consequently, when coming across the vividly hued “Chrissy Dress” I knew I had to sample sale snatch it before some desperate fashionista in Texas took my size.

Doing:

Enjoying fabulous stories of my soul-sister‘s adventures at Teen Vogue over fabulous cocktails.
My best friend just got back from three weeks of interning at the New York offices of Teen Vogue. While she too aspires to garner a a spot in the fashion industry, for now we both settle for internships, giving us the chance to take a bite of our dreams. However, a small dilemma ensues….. once you take a bite, that only wets your appetite for more.

Please enjoy a fantastic weekend with your soul-sister!
